Academics over Fitness

Friends, we have noticed in our daily routine that several people advice multiple things. For example, a school teacher tells the children tips or facts related to academics, whereas a sports teacher may advice the children something related to sports. This is common and students might get confused by this.      I always thought that academics is better than fitness and it is. Most of the elders at my home and some of my cousins always ask me about my latest results at school. Only some of the people talk to me about sports and fitness. Yes, I know that fitness is also important because it helps our body charge and makes an active mood. People also say that studies are boring. Yes, I do feel like that but, their celebration is a lot of fun. The results make us proud. This phrase below is heard by every student in the world.       If there is no pen, no study. No study, no trophy. No trophy, no college. No college, no job. No job, no money, and no...

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

❖ 970 million people around the world struggle with some kind of mental illness. ❖ 14.3% deaths worldwide, approximately million deaths each year, are attributable to mental disorders. ❖ Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death among people aged 15-29. This appalling data sends a chill down my spine. Mental health issues have been ever increasing and it is estimated that one in four people will be affected by amental health illness at some point in their lives. Mental health is a major concern all over the world and India does not show a rosy picture either. To add to this adversity, there is lack of health literacy, awareness and acceptance; there is stigma in help-seeking, especially in the Indian context. It is very important to understand that mental health is a state of mental fitness that enables us to handle the stresses of life, since it damages our emotional, psychological and social well- being. Dr. Brock Chrisholm, the first director general of the WHO, in 1954, had...

Teacher’s importance in our life!

Once…Teachers were our inspiration! Teachers led us to the best path, showing light They made us really bright They’re angels, Whom we should be grateful about. Whom we should be faithful about. When god created teachers He gave us special guides To show us ways in which to grow So we can all decide… These lines might have touched your heart… I’m very sure you are thinking about your teachers. But are these noticed in today’s life? No, right? This could be the reality if we would have the Gurukul system alive. During the Gurukul system teachers were treated higher than gods. Do you know why? As teachers were trusted and followed blindly by students and the parents too! Teachers were the only source of knowledge at that time and they used to share every single drop of their knowledge’s ocean.     Gradually, the system changed. Teacher’s value got a bit low as the school system came into existence but they were still valued a lot. I mean a lot! But nowadays, it is the opp...

Rainy season’s solace

‘Rainy season’s solace’- this phrase is as calming as the actual experience. Everyone has their own experiences and perspectives about rain. Some may find rain soothing and a happy time to cherish, but for some people, they may have a not-so-good time. This is all  about my experience of rainfall. And yes, at the end, you would feel the solace within you.  It is a quite delightful time for me. When the rain starts pouring, I leave all my stress and sit  in my balcony, enjoying the view and the soothing rhythm of rain fall. It suddenly becomes a  comfortable environment that I snug up into my beanbag and read a book while eating  some fresh meal. I even wear some cozy clothes to keep me warm. Sometimes, I get lost in  the beauty of nature.  After rains, when I step out of my house to get some fresh air, the fragrance of soil attracts  me everywhere, whereas the flowers bloom in fresh gardens. Cool breeze blows on my face  and the leaves gliste...

The little tiny blue dot, our Earth stands as a unique ecosystem comprising of various types of wildlife. One of them being- the animals, these animals can both be horrendous as hell and also kind as heaven. There are some extinct species that our being brought back from extinction like the Passenger Pigeon, and the Dodo. These are a matter of fact that, they have gone extinct by means of human approach. All these animals going extinct such as the Dodo it is a great example of what forensic scientists are working on. The Dodo found by the Dutch soldiers around the year 1600 on an island in the Indian ocean went extinct in less than 80 years by human approach.                Forensic scientists have till now brought Pyrenean ibex back to life from extinction.
